A Letter from the Crisis Manager and Chair

Delegates,

It is our pleasure to serve as your Chair and Crisis Manager for Park Geun-hye’s Cabinet at NAIMUN LV. My name is Will Rau and I will be your CM. I am in the Class of 2020, studying International Political Economy in the School of Foreign Service. I have been involved with Model UN since high school as both a delegate and a staffer, and I served as a Crisis Analyst at NAIMUN LIV.

Joining me is your Chair, Olivia Kim. Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, she has been heavily involved with MUN alongside other public-speaking activities including mock trial, parliamentary debate, and theater during her four years in high school.

In a smaller cabinet, every delegate will actively participate in debate—various ministries will go head to head in deciding South Korea’s future as crises unfold. In the crisis room, we will create realistic situations that will require excellent patience and problem solving.

We live in interesting political times, and we all have a duty to understand foreign affairs and their implications. In light of President Park Geun-hye’s impeachment, South Korea has undergone tremendous change, creating a medium for intense political dialogue. This February, you will have a unique opportunity to examine history before it goes in the books. As students, we are preparing to enter a world that is growing before our eyes. I encourage you to prepare well, and to bring your best diplomacy to the table.

We look forward to meeting you all in February!

Hoya Saxa,
Will Rau and Olivia Kim

Crisis Manager and Chair, Park Geun-hye’s Cabinet

About the Chair

Olivia is a member of Georgetown College’s Class of 2020. Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, she has been heavily involved with MUN alongside other public-speaking activities including mock trial, parliamentary debate, and theater during her four years in high school. She has competed in various conferences both domestic and regional within the East Asia realm. When she is not hunting for new food spots in DC, wandering around museums, or trying out new VSCO filters, she works for Georgetown Global Consulting as Director of Public Relations. Having chaired UN Habitat at last year’s NAIMUN, she is beyond excited to welcome delegates to NAIMUN LV!

About the Crisis Manager

William Rau is in the Class of 2020 in the Edmund A. Walsh of School of Foreign Service. He grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a varsity coxswain on the Men’s Rowing team, and was a Crisis Analyst in Liu Shaoqi’s Politburo at NAIMUN LIV. This will be his first time working as a Crisis Manager. Will’s interests range from Economics to Chinese Culture, and his planned major is International Political Economy. At Phillips Exeter Academy, Will was the president of the Model United Nations organization and an accomplished delegate. He is looking forward to managing Park Geun-hye’s Cabinet at this year’s conference.
