Dear Delegates,

We are honored to serve as your Under Secretary-General and Deputy Under Secretary-General for NAIMUN XLVII's Economic and Social Councils.

Over the last few years, our organ has seen significant development and growth, and the trend will continue this year, with the addition of the innovative new NGO Forum, comprised of a small number of experienced delegates who will be selected through an application process. We are also proud to announce the addition of the Majlis, the parliamentary body of Iran, which will join the ranks of our other returning Parliament-based committee, the British House of Commons.

Bringing new committees into a traditional framework, ECOSOCs will also include the World Intellectual Property Organization and the World Trade Organization, dealing with new issues brought along by the technological advances and implications of the 21st century.

Last but by no means the least, ECOSOCs will be enriched by the presence of committees that will test the humanitarian aspect of diplomacy with the Committee on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice and the United Nations Population Fund, where delegates will attempt to solve issues that affect the lives of ordinary people all around the globe.

With more than 700 delegates in total, ECOSOCs will be one of NAIMUN's largest organs, and size will undoubtedly be a measure of greatness on the debate floor.

We look forward to seeing you all next February!
