Dear Delegates,
Welcome to the General Assemblies of NAIMUN XLVIII! As the heart of any Model UN conference - and the UN itself - we are excited to bring you the best committees possible to make your NAIMUN experience as great as it can be. Although the debate in a General Assembly may not match the pace of a Cabinet or a smaller body, the size and scale of these committees will truly display the unique nature of Model UN and showcase the complex but rewarding nature of global negotiations.
With this in mind, this year's bodies will range from simulations of standards like DISEC and Legal, but will also venture into new territory with a 2011 United Nations Conference of the Parties to discuss climate change and a summit of high-ranking religious figures to discuss Vatican political and theological policy. We have begun selecting an amazing staff that we promise will be both incredibly fun to work with and extremely informative. We look forward to meeting all of you come February, and hope that you're as excited as we are!
