What is NAIMUNAid?
At NAIMUN, we believe that socioeconomic situations should never be a barrier to attending our conference and grow from this immersive educational experience. We understand that attending NAIMUN entails a substantial financial commitment for many schools.
NAIMUN LXIII is thrilled to continue offering financial aid through NAIMUNAid, which assists schools with the heavy financial burden of traveling to the conference and staying at the Washington Hilton. Each year, we distribute thousands of dollars to schools and individuals that need financial assistance to register for NAIMUN in order to help as many schools as possible participate in this unique educational experience. This is rooted in the Georgetown International Relations Association, Inc. (GIRA)’s commitment to making the international relations education programs we offer as accessible as possible.
The NAIMUNAid program is a step forward in making NAIMUN accessible to a wider range of high school students around the world. We offer scholarships both to individuals as well as whole delegations. Please note that, as we have a limited budget for financial aid, we cannot guarantee that all applicants will receive the amount requested.
What does NAIMUNAid cover?
The following costs may be covered by NAIMUNAid:
Registration fees
Advisor fees
Travel costs
Costs of accommodation at the Washington Hilton
Please note that NAIMUNAid applicants do not need to pay registration fees until they receive their NAIMUNAid application results.
Who can apply?
NAIMUN LXIV welcomes all delegations, regardless of place of origin, economic background, or previous attendance to NAIMUN, to apply for NAIMUNAid. That being said, please pay close attention to the due dates of the NAIMUNAid Application. NAIMUNAid Applications for International Schools and delegates are due September 7, 2026. NAIMUNAID Applications
Our NAIMUNAid application has expanded to create four separate process for US-based and international schools, and US-based and international individual delegates. The separate applications are intended to better target and efficiently allocated available NAIMUNAid. All schools and delegates located within the 50 states of the United States, Washington, D.C, Puerto Rico, and all U.S. territories are considered U.S.-based. All schools and delegates located outside of these locations are considered international. The individual delegate applications may be filled out by an advisor, parent, or the delegate themself. Fundraising
NAIMUN has a strong commitment to allowing underserved schools send delegations to our conference. Within our NAIMUNAid application, we have also included guidelines through which delegations can fundraise to cover the cost of attending our conference. As previously mentioned, please be aware that NAIMUNAid applicants that have shown their desire to attend our conference through fundraising efforts will be given priority. We encourage all NAIMUNAid applicants to craft a coherent fundraising plan that is well-explained in their application before applying for aid.
