A Message from the Executives

Dear advisors, delegates, and friends of NAIMUN,

Greetings from Washington, D.C.! As the Secretary-General and Executive Director of NAIMUN LXIII, we cannot wait to welcome you to the 63rd iteration of the North American Invitational Model United Nations, held at the Washington Hilton from February 12-15, 2026. This year, we hope to build upon the premier Model United Nations experience for which NAIMUN is known, including substantive excellence, academic rigor, and educational programming. NAIMUN LXIII will host delegates from across the U.S. and the world in forty-two groundbreaking, innovative, and immersive committees.

Our entire staff is incredibly passionate and excited about making NAIMUN LXIII the best possible experience for delegates of all backgrounds. Through realistic and substantive debate, engaging speakers and panels, and programming in the nation’s capital, we hope that this conference will ignite delegates’ curiosity for international affairs. All of our 250+ Georgetown University undergraduate staffers share our dedication to educating the next generation of global leaders. Together, we hope to equip NAIMUN’s 3,300+ high school delegates with lifelong public speaking, creative thinking, collaboration, and communication skills, as well as a general awareness of global issues.

Following the feedback we received from advisors and delegates this year, NAIMUN LXIII will continue to focus on three areas of improvement:

Educational Impact

NAIMUN LXIII is thrilled to present delegates with our slate of forty-two unique committees, which collectively offer a level of regional, chronological, and thematic diversity that can only be found at NAIMUN. This year, we are focusing each committee around specific educational goals, ranging from knowledge about certain policy debates and areas of the world to compromise under pressure and cross-cultural communication. Our dedicated staff are shaping their committees around this defined educational vision, which we hope will provide delegates with skills and knowledge that will long outlast conference weekend. Most importantly, we hope NAIMUN will teach all delegates that Model UN is about cooperation, not competition — that the best delegates are the ones who are confident enough in their own voices to bring others into the conversation. NAIMUN is a unique opportunity for students to learn how to cooperate, compromise, and communicate with people from all backgrounds, experiences, and identities. We hope to take advantage of this opportunity and, by the end of conference weekend, leave delegates more confident, cooperative, and informed.

Immersive Programming

NAIMUN’s premier status on the high school Model UN circuit stems from its prime location at the Washington Hilton in the vibrant neighborhood of Dupont. Because of NAIMUN LXIII’s unique location in the heart of Washington D.C., delegates have the opportunity to not only engage with global issues but hear from professionals and international advocates who engage with those issues. At NAIMUN, delegates not only receive exposure to a wide variety of countries and regions in committee, but also get to visit embassies, federal offices, and other historic monuments. Through this commitment to an immersive weekend, delegates get to engage with international relations outside of committee by touring the nation’s capital. Through our unique programming, we hope to help delegates realize that the voices they build in committee can and will make a difference in the international community as they grow into global leaders.

Accessibility

At NAIMUN, we believe that socioeconomic situations should never be a barrier to attending our conference and grow from this immersive educational experience. We understand that the cost of travel and lodging for the duration of our conference poses a financial barrier for many schools and delegates. The NAIMUN LXIII executives are thrilled to continue offering financial aid to schools and delegates through NAIMUNAid, which assists schools with the heavy financial burden of traveling to the conference and staying at the Washington Hilton.

Moreover, we believe that any school or delegate that wants to attend NAIMUN should be able to do so, regardless of their level of prior Model UN experience. To achieve this, we are committed to providing an unparalleled amount of substantive support to all delegations. On our website, you can find our Model UN Toolbox, a comprehensive collection of resources designed to support first-time and returning delegates alike in Parliamentary Procedure and preparing to attend NAIMUN. Furthermore, this year, we will be expanding our Training and Interactive Program with the Secretariat (TIPS) program, a free online training course for all areas of Model UN, from introductions to Parliamentary Procedure and position papers to advanced crisis strategies. We plan to expand the number and frequency of these sessions, and to refresh our TIPS materials to make them even more accessible to delegates of all experience levels.

In addition, we plan to continue the tradition of offering free transportation to Friday morning programming so that financial costs aren’t prohibiting any attendee from taking advantage of the historic sites Washington, D.C. has to offer. We are also excited to offer a Delegate Closet, a free resource for delegates who want to borrow Western business attire for NAIMUN weekend. All items are available for pre-order and can be collected at the Washington Hilton, starting Thursday, February 12, 2026. Delegates also have the choice to browse our clothing selections during NAIMUN and check out items in person. We will offer various sizes ranging from Youth 12-18 in both boys and girls with gender-neutral options available. Additionally, NAIMUN’s Director of Logistics and Security will be ensuring that any requested medical, technological, or environmental accommodations are met.
