The International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) is the leading global forum for financial regulators, dedicated to ensuring fair, efficient, and transparent securities markets. Representing over 95% of the world’s securities markets, IOSCO develops international standards to combat financial crime, promote investor protection, and enhance market stability, which Topic A will explore. As financial markets evolve, Topic B looks into new challenges—such as cryptocurrency regulation and the role of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria—require coordinated global responses.

about the chairs

Emma Hu (she/her) is a member of Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, Class of 2027, majoring in International Politics and pursuing a Certificate in Asian Studies. Originally from Shanghai, China, she has also called McLean, Virginia, home for the past eight years. Model UN has been a central part of Emma’s life since the beginning of high school, and she has continued her passion at Georgetown. Last year at NAIMUN, she served as the crisis manager for the nontraditional Chinese-English bilingual committee, alongside Hope, who was chairing. Outside of MUN, Emma is an avid soccer fan (COYG!), loves exploring new music, and enjoys traveling to new places. She’s beyond excited to be back for another incredible year with NAIMUN.


Hope Tan is a member of the class of 2026 at the Georgetown University Walsh School of Foreign Service. She is pursuing a major in International Politics and two certificates in Asian Studies and International Business Diplomacy. From Hong Kong to DC, Hope has been involved with Model UN for years! At Georgetown, she is involved with an investment fund, an all-women’s a cappella group, the Asian American Student Association, and NCSC—NAIMUN’s sister conference for collegiate delegates. She is excited to be back for another year staffing NAIMUN as your chair!

Claudia Marcela Hernández is the Program Manager for Latin America and the Caribbean for Global Financial Integrity, a US-based organization countering illicit financial flows. Claudia is a regulatory strategist bridging crypto, compliance, and financial innovation in Latin America. With a background in digital law, AML, and blockchain policy, she works with both regulators and private-sector innovators to build financial systems that are secure and interoperable. Her work focuses on digital assets, tokenized real-world assets, embedded finance, and risk frameworks for emerging financial technologies.
